CAT burglar! Watch CCTV footage of moggy bringing home loot after robbing neighbours' homes

Devious Denis dubbed "The Menace" after stealing clothes, paintbrushes, a football, Barbie doll, boxer shorts and even a thong

He's stealthy, agile… and always makes the purr-fect getaway.
But Denis the cat burglar’s secret life of crime has been exposed – after he was captured on CCTV.
Owner Lesley Newman caught him sneaking back in through the cat flap carrying an amazing array of loot nicked from her neighbours’ homes and gardens.
Swag: Denis returns with some stolen goods

Lesley, 48, reckons two-year-old Denis went off the rails as a kitten when he snatched a discarded sock on his first trip out after she brought him home from a rescue centre.
Since then he has escalated to a bath towel, football, Barbie doll, cuddly toy, cardigan, paintbrushes, shoes, sandals and slippers.
Even after being “busted” by the CCTV footage, he just can’t seem to go straight – proudly presenting a daily array of stolen items, including boxer shorts and even a thong to embarrassed Lesley.
His furtive feline exploits are so well known locals have dubbed him Denis the Menace.

Cat that got the cream: Denis admires his loot
Accounts assistant Lesley, from Luton, Beds, tries to reunite the swag with owners – storing the “hot” goods in cardboard boxes so they can be easily retrieved. She says: “He must have nicked more than 100 things by now. Sometimes he leaves them by my bed while I’m asleep.
“I tracked down one lady who lost her sandals – and found Denis would have had to scale half a dozen 6ft fences to get there and back.”
Cat behaviour expert Vicky Halls said: “It’s a basic hunting instinct.”
Embarrassed: Lesley was shocked when Denis turned up with another women's thong
